The Psalms are a collection of writings that reflect the thoughts arising from situations a number of writers experienced. Each Psalm conveys some the feeling relating to the incident or occasion they were passing through. Some of the Psalms are Prophetic, others Prayers. In them we also see the Messiah, His suffering and His reign.
Many commentators have written on the Psalms, C.H. Spurgeon wrote the classic The Treasury of David? A.F. Kirkpatrick, H.R. Mackintosh, Campbell Morgan, Barns, Matthew Henry, and many more have all written commentaries on the Psalms, and are well worth reading.
